New version of the popular PuTTy program that hopefully arrived at the 0.71 number and fixes bugs that allowed for false login requests.
The latest version of it PuTTY SSH and Telnet client released on 16/3/2019, adds protection against fake login and audit requests ID cardterminal, which are intended to steal login information. The new version 0.71 comes after 20 months of inactivity and fixes a total of eight issues better safetys.
Five of the vulnerabilities corrected with PuTTY 0.71 were found through the program bounty bug which was funded by the European Union, and had set the amount of €90,000 as a reward for anyone reporting errors and holes in software with its twenty-year history on the internet.
However, PuTTY 0.71 fixes one serious overflow error which exists in all previous versions of the client program. Another significant weakness mentioned (through the European Union's reward program) is that of hijacking the help file (.CHM format) in the PuTTY variant for Windows.
