In particular, it's a helmet with a built-in screen system, specially designed to provide real-time visuals to soldiers, referring to technologies previously seen in science fiction stories.

It looks like a pilot's helmet, but it's specifically designed for use by soldiers, providing services such as demonstrating hostile and non-hostile forces, or helping to coordinate and manage small units.

"The system significantly improves the environment perception capabilities of soldiers operating outside of vehicles" it states in its relevant announcement ς.

According to Paul Wright, a BAE Systems executive, initially the system is expected to "see" more demanding in areas where improved environmental perception provides a decisive advantage, such as air support co-ordinators or special anti-terrorist units. The next stage, according to Wright, will be in airborne units or mariners, where increased aggression and better technical equipment are required due to the necessarily lighter equipment their businesses (airfields / outposts) have.
