The next major release of Windows 10, the 1903 or 19H1 version, will support the RAW image format. As you may already know, not all older versions of Windows 10 supported these images.
That will change soon. With the new Build 18323, Microsoft will make one available packet codec for Raw images via the Windows Store that will add native support for RAW image format in Windows 10.
By downloading the new Raw Image Extension (still in Beta) from the Store, you can view image thumbnails, previews and the metadata of images from your camera directly in the folder containing the photos.
Μπορείτε επίσης να προβάλετε τις εικόνες σας σε πλήρη ανάλυση σε applications such as Photos or any other Windows application that uses the Windows Imaging Component framework to decode images.
To be able to view RAW images in Windows 10
Before proceeding, be sure to install Windows 10 Build 18323. Then open this page in the Microsoft Store.
Make it click on the Download button next to the name of the extension and wait until it is installed on your device.
Sign out and log in to your Windows user account.
The last step is necessary to allow File Explorer to correctly create thumbnails for RAW images.
From now on, you will be able to view RAW images with Photos. Also, File Exporer will display thumbnails and previews of your files. If you have other image viewers using the Windows Imaging Component Framework, they will also support RAW images.
