Red Hat has announced a new beta version of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.x series. The new Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.6 Beta beta release brings improvements to security, management tools, and Linux containers.
The company announcement states:
“Using Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 hardware modules, the NBDE feature is extended to provide two levels of security features in hybrid cloud operations: The network-based mechanism is implemented in the cloud, while the use of on-premise TPM helps to update disks more securely.
For better integration into intrusion countermeasures, the functions of the wall protections of Red Hat Enterprise Linux have been improved with improvements to nftables.
The nft command line tool can also provide better control. Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.6 beta provides new cryptographic algorithms for the RSA and ECC standards, which help maintain FIPS compliance and remain compliant with the standards cryptographyof NIST and other organizations responsible for handling sensitive information”
