Reddit r / The_Donald has long been a site of racism, bigotry, homophobia and fanatical devotion to the 45th President of the United States. Today, after years of criticism, Reddit decided to take action against the subreddit of 790.000 subscribers by banning it altogether.
The move is part of new policies against any hate speech following the Black Lives Matter protests that led to an initial ban on 2.000 communities. 
Although only about 200 of these subreddits had more than 10 active users per day, other prominent subreddits such as r / chapotraphouse, a subreddit associated with a far-left podcast of the same name, were banned today.
It was about time.
It should be noted that this is not the first time Reddit has banned r / The_Donald. As of 2019, subreddit had limited capabilities and its posts were hidden from the front pages of Reddit. However, the community has continued to grow to this day.
