The cost of using your phone (roaming ) while abroad is expected to be reduced by up to 50% from 1 July. The event is part of the European Commission's efforts to reduce the cost of approxtreatmentof mobile telephony in Europe.
Following last year's cost-cutting announcement that imposed new restrictions on operators and its cap price of calls, sending text messages and data, the European Commission announced that the limits should come into effect from July 1.
So, the calls που σήμερα υπερβαίνουν σε κόστος τα 24 λεπτά του ευρώ ανά λεπτό, θα μειωθούν στα 19 σεντ ανά λεπτό. Το καλύτερο όμως, είναι η χρέωση των MB για τα data which is expected to be reduced to 20 minutes, from the current 45 minutes. Here's the full breakdown of the cuts, as presented by TNW.
Apparently the news shows progress and the important steps made by 2012 have finally been sealed. Let's remind you that the European Commission's goal is to move towards the abolition of roaming charges in Europe by 2016.
