You may already know that about Renewal or Reset Windows 8 you need the installation USB or DVD, except if you upgrade to Windows 8 from Upgrade Assistant.
This can be very frustrating when your computer suddenly stops working while you are traveling, and you do not have your installation disc near you.
We'll show you how to refresh or restore Windows 8 without the installation disc.
To get started, you will need:
- The file install.wim from your Windows 8 installation disc
- Time
- And of course a Windows 8 or 8.1 computer
Warning
If you have already created a Custom Recovery Image, then it is recommended not to proceed. By using the install.wim file, all 3rd Party preletterthey will be uninstalled.
Let's start.
We assume that your operating system is installed in C: /
1. On disk C :, create a new folder named refresh. If prompted, click to continue.
2. From DVD or DVD USB installation Windows 8 open the folder sources and look for the file install.wim.
3. Select and copy the install.wim file.
4. In the envelope C: \ Refresh now that you created the first step, paste it the file install.wim. If requested, click on psustainability. (You can prevent and prevent 1, 2, 3, and 4 steps, so if there is a problem with your system and you do not have the installation disc you will be ready).
5. Open a window command line with Administrator permissions (right-click bottom right on your screen and select it Command Prompt (Admin). The system we use is in English.
6. Copy - paste the following command, and press Enter.

For the Reset now:
1. Run the Windows application, notepad as an administrator. How; Search the notepad on the Windows Home screen and when the application icon is right-clicked and opened as an administrator.
2. When open, go to File / Open (or Greek File / Open) and follow the following path
3. Change the file type to all files so you can view other files contained in the folder other than .txt, and then select the ReAgent.xml file.
4. Be sure to save the original ReAgent.xml file before proceeding to the next step.

6. and change it with the following:
Note: Do not make any changes to the numbers id and Guid.
7. Save changes.
