Goods with forged labels are known to everyone, as they are marketed from Rolex fake watches up to corn flakes.
Of course companies are chasing the scammers as a fake or spoiled product can ruin their reputation, which in some cases took centuries to cultivate.
So we have the smart bottle of cognac by the distiller Rémy Martin. Rémy Martin and Selinko Digital Innovation Company have developed the Rémy Martin Club Connected Bottle, which certifies that the bottles you buy are not opened.
The Rémy Martin Club Connected Bottle uses NFC technology developed by Selinko. The technology uses an invisible NFC tag embedded in the bottle seal cap.
The company says that this label is based on the banking standard ANSSI-EAL4+ asymmetric encryption technology that provides better safety equal to that of passports and bank cards.
Using an Android smartphone app, the buyer can use the phone and the app will show him if the bottle is 100 percent from a safe source and still sealed.
"The Rémy Martin Club Connected Bottle not only guarantees the authenticity of the product," says Augustin Depardon, Executive Director of Remy Martin.
