It's hard not to smile at the video of Serbian artist Dragan Ilic's latest work, where a robot uses himself as a human brush to create a painting.
In his latest video, Ilic is tethered on an industrial robotic arm and turns around creating a vast abstract art canvas. According statements by the artist the work suggests the repeatability of bioengineeringς production, as well as the increasing subjugation of humanity to machines.
"The transformation of the work of art is placed at a point where the activities of man and machine intersect," Illich writes. “This results in an interaction based primarily on the need to transcend the limits of the human body". Ilitch talks about cyborgs and robot and their role in artistic and social processes.
