The second stable version of the project, Rocky Linux 8.5, was released today.
The developers report:
"We are pleased to announce the general availability of Rocky Linux 8.5 (Green Obsidian). Rocky Linux is a community enterprise operating system designed to be 100% bug-for-bug compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.5. As this is the second version of Rocky Linux, the following release notes only reflect changes in functionality between point releases. "

The community has created the migrate2rocky tool to help convert Rocky Linux 8.5 from other Enterprise Linux systems. This tool has been tested and is working, however its use is at your own risk. Community members have been able to convert Rocky Linux systems from: Alma Linux (8.5), CentOS Linux (8.5), Red Hat Enterprise Linux (8.5), and Oracle Linux (8.5).
