A feature to share links on iOS versions of the Apple Safari browser allows iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch users to change their titles when sharing web pages.
One researcher has raised concerns that in this feature it can be misused to share "fake news" that has a wider impact.
While browsing web pages, such as news articles in the Safari web browser on iPhone or iPad, users can select and share a partial text from σελίδα and not the whole page.
However, the text snippet can also come from an input fieldtreatmentof text that the user can review and edit.
In other words, users can type arbitrary text into the search bar of news sites and then "share" it via iMessage.
The link preview created by iMessage will display fake news as text from the actual page.
