Yes Salix 14.2 Xfce Edition RC1 is here. Salix Developer, George Vlachas announced the release and immediate availability for testing the first and probably the latest RC version of the upcoming Salix 14.2 Xfce Edition.
SalixOS is a friendly version of the legendary Slackware. It has the simplicity and stability of Slackware, but has many graphical tools that will make your life easier.
Salix 14.2 Xfce Edition Release Candidate 1 ήρθε δύο μήνες μετά την κυκλοφορία της beta έκδοσης, και συμπεριλαμβάνει αρκετές βελτιώσεις αλλά και νέα characteristics. We should mention that the final version of the distribution is expected to appear towards the end of the month.
The new features include two new in-house tools, GUEFI, a graphical boot manager for UEFI 64-bit systems (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface).
The tool comes to help users edit, remove, or create new startup entries in UEFI.
Along with GUEFI, GTKRepoSetup, a graphical user interface (GUI) for the tool, is also launched for the first time lineof reposetup commands.
The developer project Salix OS, Giorgos Vlachavas mentions that "I don't think there is any other distribution with something similar" and of course he means GUEFI.
