Samsung has just announced that its new chip Exynos 9 Series 8895 has come in mass production today. It is the first chipset of the company manufactured with the 10nm FinFET processing technology, and has a reinforced transistor structure for 3D.
According to Samsung, the new chipset offers 27% faster results and consumes 40% less energy compared to processors manufactured with 14nM processing technology.
In addition, the Exynos 9 series will be the world's first chipset to have an LTE gigabit modem, which is supposed to support no less 5CA. Basically, this means that the chipset can deliver incredibly fast speeds with max.1Gbps (Cat.16) downlink and 150Mbps (Cat.13) uplink.
With state-of-the-art technologies such as VPUs, the Exynos 8895 will drive their innovation smartphones επόμενης γενιάς, VR headsets, και το σύστημα automotive infotainment" δήλωσε ο Ben Hur, Αντιπρόεδρος του συστήματος LSI marketing της Samsung Electronics."
The new Samsung Exynos 8895 SoC (system-on-chip) features eight cores, consisting of four second-generation custom designed CPU cores designed for better performance and more power.
Samsung also revealed that the Exynos 8895 chipset will feature a special processing unit to improve security solutions, which is required for mobile payments that use various verification methods identity, such as iris scanning or fingerprint recognition
Also, the Exynos 9 series comes with a new integrated Processing Unit Vision (VPU) που μπορεί να αναγνωρίσει και να αναλύσει τα στοιχεία ή τις κινήσεις για καλύτερη monitoring video, panoramic image processing, as well as machine vision technology.
