Three days after the official launch of Galaxy S5, security researchers managed to break the Galaxy S5 fingerprint sensor using a similar method used in the iPhone 5S Touch ID hack last year.

Researchers from SRLabs they recently uploaded a video to YouTube to demonstrate that they were able to bypass the mechanism fingerprints of the device and gain unauthorized access only by using a fabricated fingerprint.

The fingerprint scanner of S5 allows multiple failed attempts without requiring a password, so an attacker could possibly continue to try until it succeeds.

Samsung Galaxy S5 users can easily transfer money to other PayPal users by simply placing their finger on the sensor. But imagine what can happen if the phone falls into the hands of a hacker. Remember that PayPal accounts are directly linked to bank accounts, and with the Samsung device transactions can be made without the need for some password.

In addition, if you re σε ένα iPhone 5S της Apple, απαιτεί από τον χρήστη να εισάγει έναν κωδικό πρόσβασης, για να μπορέσει μετά να χρησιμοποιήσει το δακτ of the fingerprint to unlock the phone. Samsung's device uses no such security measure, and an owner's fingerprint can be on the phone's screen…making it very easy for someone in the know to copy it.
