Η Samsung officially unveiled the new Galaxy S9 and S9 +, during the Samsung Unpacked event, one day before the start of the Mobile World Congress 2018 (MWC) which will take place from February 26 to March 1 in Barcelona, Spain.

The screens of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 + are 5,8 inches and 6,2 inches respectively, Quad HD + Super AMOLED with a resolution of 2960 × 1440. They are powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm MSM8998 Octaprex 845 processor or an Exynos 9810 64-bit (depending on the provider) and have 4GB of memory and 6GB of RAM with 64GB of storage.
Storage can be expanded up to 400 GB via a microSD card slot. Both devices run Android 8.0 (Oreo) with Picture-in-Picture support, smart text selection, Android Instant apps, and background limits.
Samsung has updated the camera of the Galaxy S9 series, and promises its customers a camera for stunning photos in bright daylight or in extremely low light. The rear camera has a dual aperture function that adapts to the environment, F1.5 for low light scenes and F2.4 for bright.
The rear camera of the Galaxy S9 also has sensors Super Slow-mo, Panorama, Hyperlapse, Food, and Auto / Pro modes, 12MP 1 / 2.55 ″ and 1.4µm AF sensor with a ratio of 4: 3. The camera offers optical image stabilization, digital zoom up to 8x and selective focus so you can take photos with background blur, or as it is called bokeh.

The cameras also come with VDIS (Video Digital Image Stabilization), AR Emoji, Grid Lines, HDR (High Dynamic Range), Photo Motion Support, Position Labels, Full View Mode, Filters, Timer, Camera Button, Stamps, and Quick View boot. The automatic camera on the front has an 8MP AF sensor 1 / 3.6 ″ and 1.22μm with an aperture of F1.7.
As for video recording, the Galaxy S9 can record 4K video at 30 fps or 60fps, QHD video at 30 fps and Full HD 1080p video at 30 fps or 60 fps. Super Slow-mo captures 720p video at 960 fps and classic slow motion captures 1080p video at 240 fps. Hyperlapse captures 1080p video.
Both phones have powerful batteries. The Galaxy S9 has a 3000mAh battery, while the Galaxy S9 + has a larger battery at 3500mAh. The devices feature a headphone jack and stereo speakers tuned by AKG with Dolby Atmos surround sound and are IP68 certified water and dust resistant.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 series has Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac (2.4 / 5GHz), Bluetooth v5.0 LE (Low Energy) up to 2Mbps, NFC, ANT +, VHT80 MU-MIMO, 1024QAM, a USB type-C connector, built-in GPS with Galileo, GLONASS, and BeiDou. It also has face recognition and a fingerprint sensor (on the back).
The Samsung Galaxy S9 series is available in Midnight Black, Titanium Gray, Coral Blue, and Lilac Purple. Pre-orders start next Friday, March 2, and the devices will be released worldwide from March 16, 2018.
The Galaxy S9 will cost $ 719,99 and the Galaxy S9 + will cost $ 839,99 in the United States.
