Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab S2, a new Android tablet available in two sizes and is only 5,6 mm thick. This means it is 0,6 mm thinner than Apple iPad Air 2.
The larger model is the same size as the iPad Air 2, which was released last October, and manages to offer the same resolution while weighing 46g less.
The new Tabs run with a octa-core processor (four 1.9GHz cores and four 1.3GHz cores) with 3GB RAM and 32GB and 64GB storage, depending on the version you choose. There is also a microSD slot to add extra storage space up to 128GB.
They run on Android 5.0 Lollipop and feature 8-megapixel camera back and an 2,1-megapixel snapper on the front.
There is a fingerprint reader, while Samsung software allows you multi-tasking and pop-up windows to easily switch applications.
Both Tab S2 sizes will be available globally since August. The company has not yet released the cost of new devices.
