The captured person received illegally encrypted subscription channels and distributed them to 970 client clients for a sum of money
The Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate of the Hellenic Police filed a case against a 35-year-old citizen in the area of Serres, who was arrested at the border of the highway for a case "piracy'Satellite pay services'.
The investigation of the case began following a lawsuit submitted to the Directorate of Electronic Crime Prosecution, by an attorney of an anonymous telecommunications company, according to which the 35-year-old, using appropriate logistics latest technology equipment had managed to achieve viewing of the company's subscription channels, without paying the legal monthly subscription.
Yesterday (16-06-2015) in the morning, a group of police officers of the Electronic Crime Prosecution Department located the perpetrator at his home, in the Serres area and carried out, in the presence of a judicial officerperson, legal investigation, in the context of which a satellite receiver and other technological equipment, used for the aforementioned illegal activity, was found connected to the internet and to the television, an act for which the 35-year-old was arrested at the limits of the autoforo.
As it was later established, the 35-year-old, with the use of an expert software that the satellite receiver had, received the coded channels of the "bouquet" of subscription channels of the renting company, as well as other satellite subscription "packages".
As part of the investigation on the seized laptop, a specific illegal program was found, with which the accused managed (activating and deactivating) 970 of his user-clients, from whom he received an unknown amount of money as compensation for his illegal services.
The financial loss of the company from its illegal activity to date amounts to a minimum of 1.164.000 euros, a percentage of which is a loss to the Greek State due to non-payment of VAT, but also to the existing contract between the State and the said company for the provision of subscription services.
During the investigation at the defendant's home, found and seized:

Portable computer with its power adapter.
35, who is accused of violating the Copyright and Protection of Subscriber Services Laws, will be brought to the Prosecutor's Office of the First Serge, and the seized will be sent to the Criminal Investigation Division of Northern Greece for examination.
