Pat Riehecky has announced the release of Scientific Linux 6.10, the final build of the distribution based on Red Hat. This version will be supported until November 2020. 
To mention that the distributions CentOS, και Scientific Linux χρησιμοποιούν σαν βάση το Red Hat. Η τελευταία έκδοση των two forks closely follows the RHEL release, which is currently at 7.5.

The version we publish today (Scientific Linux 6 build 10), as we mentioned above and can be seen in the above image, is the latest version of 6 as it will continue to support up to 2020.
Scientific Linux 6.10 i386 / x86_64 is the final version of EL6, with major security fixes and critical bug fixes. Please run yum clean expire-cache. More changes from SL 6.9:
The distribution uses the Scientific Linux 6.10 repositories, OpenAFS, updated in 1.6.22.3.
Changes compared to Enterprise 6: httpd changed the default index.html to remove the Red Hat branding, Plymouth had the red colors removed, and generally all its logos disappeared redhat.
