A free game for iOS and Android, called Sea Hero Quest, is now available for users interested in contributing to dementia data collection.
The Sea Hero Quest is the creation of a major European collaboration, in which Cosmote is also involved, and aims to gather data on dementia. Data to help developers develop new diagnostic tests for the disease.
The purpose of the game is to find the way through islands and iceberg mazes, with the navigation data recorded. Measurements have to do with dementia disease as the first impact that people living with dementia experience is the loss of spatial orientation, even in familiar places and environments. The game's contribution to research is quite significant. After all, according to the research team "if 100.000 people play the specific game for 2 minutes each, the data collected correspond to more than 50 years of research”.
