Seven alternatives of Google Maps that you have not heard

Google maps is Earth's most popular mapping system, but it's not always perfect. There are other online maps that deserve to take a look at.

It is simple to use. The website and mobile app are ideal for minimalists who do not want to be distracted by their navigation. With the application, just set your destination and go. The mobile application requires you to be connected to the internet.

In general you can more quickly plan a route and start navigation, it has a long and easy to follow, in the mobile version and contains less distractions in the navigation mode.

Rand McNally (Web)
Rand McNally maps are extremely detailed. You will see from the smallest lakes to even the smallest hiking trails.
Unfortunately, searching for a route and generally finding a route is limited to the Americas

Maps include details such as traffic levels, businesses and attractions, free travel guides to your destinations, and cloud storage.

OpenStreetMap (Web) and OsmAnd (Android, iOS, Amazon)
This service has two branches. The first is the OpenStreetMap web mapping tool and the other is the OsmAnd application that pulls data from the OpenStreetMap site database.

OsmAnd is an offline mapping application. THE OpenStreetMap website is simple, but has more features than many other simple internet mapping services. You will find different levels available (cycling, transport, humanitarian) very accurate route planning and a detailed map of your route. It has many details. You will see icons for business types, hiking trails and even river flow direction. Great for exploring areas, but not so good for real-time navigation.

Alternatively
There are some mapping services that are specialized and not good alternatives to Google Maps. Check out these mobile-only services:

Citymapper (Web, Android, iOS) Citymapper focuses on one thing. How to get to cities using public transport whether it is buses, trains, subways, ferries, cycling or walking. It currently refers to 39 different cities, and none of them belong to Greece.

BackCountry Navigator (Android, Windows ) BackCountry Navigator allows you to use topographic maps that are useful if you want to go camping, hiking, hunting, kayaking, fishing and other outdoor activities. For the map of Greece it does not require you to pay.

Navmii (Android, iOS) The Navmii is built with drivers in mind. Provides voice guidance, traffic and road data for 150 countries. If you live in the US there is an Android US version.

  1. In the WeGO 2.0.12823 version we have on a Xiaomi if I do not connect to the internet does not even open the program. Probably opens for 2 sec and closes immediately. But if I'm on the internet it opens and works normally !!!!!
