Yesterday in Leipzig, Germany, 20 Maximilian S, founder of Shiny Flakes on darknet, was found guilty of selling 914 kilograms of drugs and sentenced to 7 for years. The conviction marked the end of a trial with the biggest crime so far on darknet in Germany.
After the surprise confession of Maximilian S. at the end of September, presiding judge, Norbert Göbel, found him guilty of building and operating the online store Shiny flakes. It was a website where every registered user around the world could buy all kinds of drugs. From December 2013 until his 26 2015 February 4.400.000 owner received Bitcoins worth € XNUMX.
The court decided to judge Maximilian as a minor after being evaluated by the juvenile court where ecpricestated that Maximilian S. may have been financially independent and have a high IQ, but he lived a poor life and has emotional immaturity.
Maxililian S. started to run Shiny Flakes at the age of 19 and soon managed to make it one of the most profitable online drug stores in Germany. In addition to some help in the beginning by his mentor, RedBull (who has already been arrested) and support by someone with the name DummesSchwein (who disappeared early), Maximilian S. basically handled all his own duties online marketer, dealt with the technical side of Bitcoin wallets, server, pickup delivery and shipping products to customers.
In an interview with 2014, the owner of Shiny Flakes attributes his business success to choosing pills, but also to using statistical analysis of customers and purchasing habits.
Shiny Flakes provided virtually everything from MDMA, ecstasy, meth, LSD, marijuana. By paying Bitcoins, you could order whatever you liked.
The police had introduced the drugs seized at a press conference early March of 2015, shortly after the arrest.
Maximilian S. did two mistakes that finally sealed his fate and drew the attention of the Leipzig Police. He didn't put the right stamp on some of his packages (or at all), so some of them ended up being held at the main post office in Leipzig, where officials labeled them as packages with suspicious content. And the second mistake was that he always used the same post office which was relatively close to his house.
Despite the confiscation of all Bitcoins by the police, it is not clear whether Maximilian S. will be completely penniless after his release from prison. The police have access in two of his Bitcoin wallets and through them he is able to see the rest which however he has not been able to open. Police are currently trying to auction off the amount of Bitcoin seized.
