Ross Ulbricht was found guilty by the federal court in Manhattan in February for seven charges related to the drug market.
Categories include electronics piracy, money laundering and running a drug smuggling business.
The above charges brought against Ulbricht two life sentences, as well as separate sentences of an additional 40 years in total.
One of the most important factors in his appeal will undoubtedly be that two of the FBI investigators involved in the Silk Road case are charged with money laundering and corruption offenses.
