Skype 1.7 Alpha for Linux: Microsoft released a new one today version of Skype Alpha for Linux. It is a completely redesigned software that has nothing in common with the previous version Skype 4.3.

The new Skype 1.7 Alpha for Linux only supports the latest version of the Skype protocol. Due to this limitation, the application is unable to communicate with them users using Skype for Linux on the ancient version 4.3.0.37.
