Microsoft has released a new version of Skype for Linux Alpha, which brings new options that will improve the end-user experience with application.
Skype for Linux Alpha 1.8 comes with a new option to highlight all unread messages as read, and updated search option to support non-Latin characters.
There are also several stability improvements, and Microsoft says the improvement in application performance is already noticeable.
According to the above, the new updated version focuses more on the performance of the application, rather than the featurecase of new features, although it's no secret that too many are still hoping that Microsoft will add more features that are already available in Windows.
Screen sharing, for example, is not yet available, even though it is one of Skype's most sought after features.
