The application was released as a preview from December 2014. Since then, the new Skype has made tweaks in the service based on feedback from users experiencing the new service.
The translator recognizes the speech by comparing it with millions of audio clips. It then corrects any common expressions and translates them into the language you have chosen. Translations are written on the screen as subtitles, but they are also heard on your computer's speakers.

The new service developers report that the more the application is used, the better translation will be, as the new Skype has been developed to learn.
If you're interested in the feature, starting today, Skype Translator is available to all PC users or tablets with Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and Windows 10.
