From July 2016 onwards we had no news of it Slackware. Η διανομή σταμάτησε στην version Slackware Linux 14.2.
So today we are pleased to announce the upcoming version 15.0 of the oldest surviving Linux distribution in the world.
The new version has been declared in the "Current" development branch as "alpha 1":
"Here we go again gl the glibc 2.33 has been upgraded and comes with one latest mass rebuild in Slackware 15.0. The only packages upgraded to this batch are glibc and kernels - everything else is just a remake of the new glibc.
There's also a new Rust compiler, but Firefox apps and Thunderbird they will need to be patched to use it, so we'll leave them until we're ready with the new Rust for patches or new upstream releases.
That's why I'm not ready to name the "beta" version yet, and we'll call it 15.0-alpha1. "
