Samsung presented today in Berlin its new SmartWatch, Gear S3. The SmartWatch comes with advanced characteristics although the company doesn't seem focused on innovation, but more on improving the older Gear S2 version.
Specifically, the Gear S3 is similar in size to the Gear S2, (46 mm enclosure and 1,3 inch screen instead of 44 mm and Gear S1,2 2 screen). The screen has an 360x360px resolution.
The SmartWatch comes in two design options, the Frontier for more active users, and the Classic model. The Gear S3 Classic it comes in a stainless steel and silver look, while the Frontier has a matte black finish.
The Frontier comes with a somewhat military look and is more resistant to shocks since its screen is protected with Gorilla Glass SR +.
The Gear S 3 Frontier is 46x49x12,9 millimeters and weighs 62 grams while the Gear S 3 Classic is 46x49x12,9 millimeters and weighs 57 grams.
The smartphones come with rotating details on the screen that allow users to answer calls more easily, they run on Tizen and today there are 10.000 apps available for the Gear S3. The SmartWatch runs on a 1.0GHz dual-core processor Exynos The 7270 has 4GB of storage and 768MB of RAM.
As expected the Gear S3 has various sensors including accelerometer, gyroscope, barometer and heart rate sensors. The SmartWatch comes with wireless charging and the battery it is expected to last three to four days, which is quite impressive.
The Gear S3 features NFC and MFT which allows users to make payments at credit card terminals. The Gear S3 is waterproof protection, since it is IP68 certified, however it is not recommended to wear it for swimming and diving.
It can be connected to WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, and an autonomous LTE connection. It has built-in speaker and microphone.
