Qualcomm has unveiled yet another technological breakthrough in the field of mobile telephony. Qualcomm Snapdragon Smart Protect is a new technology built into Snapdragon 820 processors, and provides real-time mechanical learning to effectively detect zero-day threats and malware.
Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 chipset will be the first processor to support new technology. More models are expected to follow early next year.
According to the manufacturer of the chipset, Snapdragon Smart Protect will be the first chipset to use Qualcomm Zeroth technology to enhance conventional anti-malware solutions.
The feature Snapdragon Smart Protect comes to complement signature-based anti-malware in the analysis and identifying new threats.
Qualcomm also reports that OEMs and security and anti-malware application development companies for cell phones they will be able to use Snapdragon Smart Protect through an API.
Η company also confirmed that Snapdragon Smart Protect is a feature included in Qualcomm's Haven security suite.
The Qualcomm Haven security app offers consumers Snapdragon Sense ID 3D with fingerprint technology, Snapdragon StudioAccess for content protection and SafeSwitch technology.
The new Snapdragon Smart Protect will be available to consumers from 2016, the Snapdragon 820 processor will be available on the market as well.
