After taking off from Hawaii at 6:30 a.m., and after 62 hours of flight, pilot Bertrand Piccard and Solar Impulse 2 successfully landed at Moffett Airfield, California.
The "solar" pilot reported that he felt great after a day of travel.
For those who don't remember the solar plane Solar Impulse 2 is trying to circumnavigate the planet, but it remains grounded 9 months after trip record he managed from Japan to Hawaii.
The new pilot, Andre Borschberg, will undertake the next leg of the journey, from California to New York.
From there, they will plan his next destination, with base weather conditions and what they have learned about the aircraft's behavior as they continue their journey to Abu Dhabi, where it first took off in March 2015.
