Google has confirmed the Bloomberg report, which states that the prototype solar drone Solara 50 that was built to provide Internet services from the air crashed earlier this month in New Mexico.
The new crash of the unmanned Solara 50, which was first reported in the news today, was 1 May in a private test site outside of Albuquerque.
The aircraft was flying at a height of 20.000 when it began to fall. According to the information published by Bloomberg, no one was injured during the crash.
Solara 50, manufactured by Titan Aerospace, a company Google purchased last year.
The purchase was part of Google's plan to provide Internet from the sky, something similar to Project Loon.
The crash is a blow to Google's efforts to provide free Internet to the world. But we should probably not worry because, as we all know, "there is money."
