Η Google confirmed the Bloomberg report that the Solara 50 prototype solar drone that was built with the intention of making available services Internet from the air crashed earlier this month in New Mexico.
The new crash of the unmanned Solara 50, which was first reported in the news today, was 1 May in a private test site outside of Albuquerque.
The aircraft was flying at an altitude of 20.000 feet when it began to fall. According to information reported by Bloomberg, no one was injured in the crash.
Solara 50, manufactured by Titan Aerospace, a company Google purchased last year.
The purchase was part of Google's plan to provide Internet from the sky, something similar to Project Loon.
The accident is a blow to Google's initiatives to make available free Internet in the world. But we probably shouldn't worry because as we all know: "There is money."
