A group of Carnegie University alumni Mellon στις ΗΠΑ κατασκεύασαν ένα μηχανισμό που μπορεί να ενσωματώνεται σε Shoes and turns them into chargers smartphones. 
The mechanism is called SolePower Insoles and according to its makers if placed on a pair of shoes the owner of them walking a total of one hour with them will be able to fully charge his device.
The kinetic energy of the legs is transferred to the mechanism activating a mini-generator which charges it through a cable battery of the phone. In the first phase, the mechanism has been proven functionalIt's built into sneakers, but the researchers say it could work in other types of shoes as well.
