Η Sony officially presented it Digital Paper, a device intended for use by lawyers, educators and entrepreneurs, aspiring to replace the use of paper.
To develop Digital Paper, Sony partnered with Worldox, a company specializing in document management. The end result is a device with a 13,3-inch diagonal screen that allows a PDF document to be viewed at full size without the need formovement or zoom for a better view, as happens on smaller tablets.
Another important advantage of the device is the fact that it reduces the need for printing, copys, sharing and transferring paper documents, thus saving valuable resources.
The Digital Paper weighs around 357 grams and offers the user a touch screen, accompanying stylus for input data and notes, high-contrast screen with a resolution of 1200 x 1600 pixels, without backlight and integrated E Ink Mobius technology. The device can be used comfortably under any lighting conditions.
The device has a wireless networking capability, via Wi-Fi, which means that documents in digital format can be "uploaded" to a server and then distributed to interested users. The built-in storage space amounts to 4GB while there is also reception for mounting an additional SD memory card.
Additionally, according to Sony, the Digital Paper's battery can last up to three weeks, and it can be charged using a standard charger or USB cable.
The device will be available from next May at $ 1.100. Finally, it is worth noting that the original of the device had been presented since last May, which was given for testing and evaluation at three Japanese universities.
