Sony announced that in four months, by April 6, had sold seven million consoles PlayStation 4.
The Japanese company admits in its announcement that it still faces difficulties to cope with the increased demand for PlayStation 4, but remains steadfast in its commitment to meet the needs of the public.
The performance of the sale of seven million PlayStation 4 exceeds the performance achieved with the previous console of the company. More specifically, the PlayStation 3 in four months of release had sales of 3,5 million units, from November 2006 to March 2007.
The PlayStation 4 launch on November 29, 2013, to be followed by its big rival Xbox One Microsoft. Sales of the Xbox One, which is more expensive than the Sony console, reached sales of 3 million units at the end of 2013.
It is worth noting that the PlayStation 4 is already available in 72 markets, while the Xbox One is expected to debut in 26 new markets as early as next September, including in Greece and other European countries such as Japan, Korea and .a.
However, a significant boost to Microsoft's sales seems to have been the exclusive release of Electronic Arts's Titanfall title. Correspondingly, Sony's sales of titles amounted to a total of 20,5 million titles, world-wide by April 13. This number concerns both physical sales in stores and the download of titles. Overall, Sony is going to release 120 game titles for PS4 throughout 2014.
