xkeyscore: Linux Journal, a community of Linux users, has been flagged as an "extremist forum" by the United States National Security Agency (NSA), while the users της κοινότητας έχουν επισημανθεί ως "εξτρεμιστές" στο πλαίσιο του προγράμματος XKeyscοre που χρησιμοποιεί για τις παρακολουθήσεις της η υπηρεσία, σύμφωνα με τον πηγαίο κώδικα του προγράμματος που διέρρευσε.
The source code, which was published this week from the German public broadcaster, ARD, reports that at least two servers located in Germany and used by the Tor network - one in Berlin, the other in Nuremberg - are under surveillance by the NSA.
The Tor Project is an independent, open-source software and offers anonymity tour on the internet, or at least that's what we knew until now.
According to the ARD publication, the source code states that Tor's servers in Germany are only two of a series of servers targeted by the NSA for tracking under the XKeyscore program. The code lists a series of specific IP addresses for the servers that use the Tor network.
The XKeyscore source code rules mention the terms 'TAILs' or 'Amnesiac Incognito Live System', 'linux', 'USB', 'CD', 'secure desktop', 'IRC', 'truecrypt', and 'Tor', as well as the search data which if observed will signal the beginning of a tracking of the searcher's IP address.
In fact, the rules of the source code look for the anonymous operating system TAILs system - a Linux distribution designed to promote outgoing connections through the Tor network. The service lists all those who use it as "extremists."
ARD also states that XKeyscore's rules show that the NSA is tracking all links on a server hosting a part of an anonymous email service at MIT's Computer Science Laboratory and Artificial Intelligence in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA.
Generally, the source code contains a set of rules that allow agents using XKeyscore to have Tor users' oversight all over the world.
However, the source code also reveals that users residing in the 'Five Eyes' - an international alliance consisting of the UK, Australia, New Zealand, the US and Canada - are exempt from the XKeyscore program's surveillance.
It is not clear how ARD acquired the source code of the NSA program as it made no mention of Snowden or the documents leaked from him.
