Sys Minion is a free portable program for Microsoft Windows that gives you instant access to complex Windows commands that you can run from its own environment.
The operating system Windows comes with a set of tools that administrators use on a regular basis. These tools usually run from the command line, and require that they be compiled with several switches in their command.
Of course you can run these tools from the command line, or create your own batch files for easier access, but you can also use free Sys Minion tool to do the job instead of you.
The program Sys Minion comes as an 32-bit and 64-bit version for the Windows operating system. The application displays the available functions on a side bar in its environment, and information about the selected command on the right.
The lateral line is divided into groups for easier identification, e.g. component store, or device drivers, etc. The following commands are available in the 1.1.1.0 version that came out in the air at 02 / 08 / 2017:
- disk Cleanup Utility – Runs Disk Cleanup with elevated privileges so you can remove old Windows leftovers from the computer.
- Remove SP uninstall data – Αυτό αφαιρεί το Service Pack Uninstallof data from the Windows machine. It only works on pre-Windows 8 versions of Windows, as Windows 8 and 10 do not support service packs.
- Analyze Component Store - Evaluates whether the component store needs to be cleaned. Works only on Windows 8.1 or later.
- Cleanup Component Store - Executes the cleanup command for the component store to free up space. Works only on Windows 8.1 or later.
- Cleanup and Reset Base of Component Store - Same as above, but will also reset the database. Works only on Windows 8.1 or later.
- Health Check - Indicates if the system is marked as corrupted, and if it can be fixed.
- Health Scan - Scans the system for component store corruption.
- OEM Drivers repository - Option to remove device drivers from system OEM drivers.
- Enable or disable signature verification to install / prevent installation of non-signed drivers.
- Enable or disable the boot menu.
- Open the User Accounts Management Environment.
Commands either open a new environment when they run on Sys Minion, or run in a new window within the application. More generally, it is a handy tool for system administrators running some of these commands occasionally. The downside to using the app is that you have no control over the commands. You can not add your own switches or remove the switches you do not want from the commands, so it's not so flexible.
