Four domains that don't sell no matter how much you give

There are four domains whose owners don't sell them, even though they occasionally have remarkable accents in their hands.

domain key

In our world everything has one . Everything; It seems not, as there are some domains whose owners, after going through legal battles to keep them, decided not to sell them no matter how good an offer they received.

Let's look at four such as well as the history of each, as they usually hide notable details and interesting extreme behaviors.

Tesla.de

teslade

Few companies have created as much buzz in recent years as American electric car maker Tesla.

The founder of the company, Elon Musk, is always trying to pull her of the public at those of his company. In fact, he does not hesitate to spend exorbitant amounts to get what he wants, as for example the purchase of Twitter at a cost of 44 billion dollars.

Despite all his efforts, however, he was unable to acquire the domain tesla.de for his company's German online representation. This domain belongs to an IT entrepreneur from Dusseldorf.

And he is especially happy every time his traffic goes up, because Elon Musk is very active on social media.

Every time he posts the latest news on Twitter, interest in Tesla increases and consequently traffic to tesla.de increases.

It has become very apparent that visitors to this address are not viewing an official Tesla website. The site does not offer information about the automotive industry. Instead, it redirects the visitor to the website of the domain owner Ralf Schmaus's IT company.

But how did Ralf Schmaus do it?

Elon Musk founded Tesla, Inc. in 2003, but German Ralf Schmaus secured the domain tesla.de for his company Tesla CRM GmbH in the 1990s.

At that time, the American Tesla did not exist. Back then everyone thought of the word Tesla as smart Serbian inventor Nikola Tesla . Later, Elon Musk used his name as a model for his company.

In fact, Tesla Inc. has not contacted Ralf Schmaus to date and there has never been an offer to buy tesla.de.

Therefore, we can only estimate the value of the domain. But IT entrepreneur Schmaus doesn't want to sell it anyway. Instead, he continues to be happy with the donated traffic. At times, it has up to 50.000 visitors per day.

Nissan.com

nissancom

The Tesla case is unusual because the domain registration took place before the automaker was founded. But the case of nissan.com is quite different.

The legal disputes over the nissan.com domain have been going on since 1999!. In the 1990s, Israeli citizen Uzi Nissan registered the domain for himself. The Japanese car company just wasn't fast enough, even though Nissan Motor Company has been around since 1933.

Uzi Nissan secured the domain under his family name in 1995, for business purposes. Nissan noticed this too late and proved rather humorless from the start.

The company entered the conflict over the domain with a claim for damages of US$10.000.000. After all, the domain has not been commercially exploitable for years. Reason: Uzi Nissan had no right to register the domain, as this is the company's physical global name and its physical extension on the internet. This is generally the companies' judicial view of domains.

The legal dispute over this domain lasted years. Uzi Nissan has repeatedly sought publicity as well as support in its fight against the mighty Japanese company.

At the same time, he published the entire story on his domain for all to see directly on nissan.com. But in July 2020 Uni died of Covid and since then the page has been inactive. And from May 2022 the page disappeared completely.

It is highly unlikely that Nissan.com will be put up for sale, and we wonder if the Nissan.com domain will quietly pass into the hands of Nissan Motors in the future.

Milk.com

milkcom

Here things are a little different. The owner of the domain milk.com agrees to sell it, but only asks for ten million dollars. Do you have them?

Dan Bornstein is the owner and was astute enough to secure this domain name in 1994. According to his statements, he originally registered the domain just to get an associated personal email address.

Maybe one day a food company will emerge that will make Dan Bornstein rich.

Germany.com

germanycom

Όπως αναφέρει και η ιστοσελίδα, "Μην το σκέφτεστε καν" !!.

Geographical domains such as germany.com are in particularly high demand. So anyone can imagine how many requests the owner of the germany.com domain, Winfried Haug, must have already received.

But he has a very clear take on it, which he shares unequivocally on the website as well:

"Μην με ενοχλείτε!!! Είμαι απασχολημένος και ούτε εγώ ούτε το germany.com πωλούνται!"

He seems to have owned the domain since at least 1996, so the clear notice isn't a whim of the day, but a consistent principle for 25 years.

Even if he obviously doesn't sell the domain, he at least offers "good friends" to create an email address at @germany.com.

She is also happy to share tips about Bengal cats. That is why when you visit the page you are not greeted by the German federal eagle, but by a Bengal cat.

In addition, there are various banners on the page, which are displayed through an affiliate program. The potential of the domain is huge, but the expression on the cat's face says: Don't even think about it!
