The Tor Project has announced the release and immediate availability for download of the stable version of their program tourς Tor Browser 5.5 for all supported operating systems, including GNU / Linux, Mac OSX and Microsoft Windows.
In the relevant announcement of the company for the new Tor Browser we read: “Στο μέτωπο της ιδιωτικότητας σας προσφέρουμε επιτέλους μια άμυνα ενάντια στις επιθέσεις καταμέτρηση χαρακτήρων, που έχουμε αναπτύξει κατά τη διάρκεια των τελευταίων εβδομάδων και μηνών. Ενώ υπάρχει ακόμα περιθώριο για βελτίωση, κλείνει ένα σημαντικό κενό στην άμυνα δακτυλικών αποτυπωμάτων μας. Επιπλέον, έχουμε απομονώσει Shared Workers στο first-party domain και βελτιώθηκε περαιτέρω η άμυνα keyboard keyboard fingerprints”.
Tor Browser 5.5 is based on ESR (Extended Support Release) έκδοση του Mozilla Firefox 38.6.0, and contains many of its core components updated with the latest versions, such as Tor Launcher 0.2.7.8, Torbutton 1.9.4.3, NoScript 2.9.0.2, and libevent 2.0.22.
The development team behind Tor Project has begun work on the next major release, Tor Brwser 6.0, which has already received its first Alpha version.
