The Twitter released two new ads showing what it is and how to use it. All indications are that the microblogging app has some problem when used by young people users.
Both video, stars comedian Romesh Ranganathan, who explains some of Twitter's key features in a funny way that makes the videos seem more like a parody than a tutorial.
In the first, Romesh urges a cowardly potential user named Kenny G to sign up for the service. There is no explanation as to why the video looks like a thriller, unless the "poet" wants to say that Twitter users are having a better time.
The second video is a bit smaller, as Romesh follows another new user called Julio and explains how the Explore tab works.
Twitter is one basic social network for years, and it's very strange that in years 2017 decided to publish videos that show the world how to use it.
But recent Twitter changes seem to indicate a small identity crisis.
Initially the company doubled the size of tweets this year, and then developed a new verification system. It is almost like trying to make the site something different from the service we have known to date.
Of course we can not know whether Romesh presentations are enough to achieve the goal of microblogging service, but at least Twitter seems to be trying to be more user-friendly.
