Ubuntu and Debian developer Iain Lane has informed the Ubuntu community that the upcoming Ubuntu 16.10 Yakkety Yak has been phased Feature Freeze since August 18, 2016.

The first Beta version of Ubuntu 16.10 will be released next Thursday, August 25, but it will only be available in flavors Ubuntu MATE, Kubuntu, Ubuntu Studio, Ubuntu GNOME, and Xubuntu.
A second and last Beta will follow. The final version of Ubuntu Yakkety Yak as we mentioned earlier will be released on 13 October of 2016.
