Brian Murray has announced the release of Ubuntu 20.10, codenamed "Groovy Gorilla". The new version "wears" version 5.8 of the Linux kernel and runs GNOME 3.38 desktop environment by default.
"Groovy Gorilla or 20.10 continues the proud tradition of Ubuntu to incorporate the latest and greatest open source technologies into a high quality, easy-to-use Linux distribution. The team has worked hard on this cycle, introducing new features and fixing bugs. The Ubuntu kernel has been updated to Linux kernel 5.8 and our default toolkit has been moved to gcc 10 with glibc 2.32.
In addition, there is now a variant surfacedesktop for Raspberry Pi 4. Ubuntu Desktop 20.10 brings GNOME 3.38, with major performance improvements that deliver a more responsive experience.
