Microsoft as we mentioned in previous publication, began offering native support on Ubuntu through the Windows 10 operating system.
Today the company seems to have gone one step further:
As promised, today you can download Ubuntu directly from Windows Store. Installing an entire operating system was as easy as downloading an application from the store of the company.
But "easy" is relevant.
Η mode it is currently only available to users participating in the Program Windows Insider. You should also enable the Windows Subsystem for Linux beforehand.
Those interested should be aware that this is the Ubuntu command line and not meant to run graphics applications.
So the use of distribution through the Windows platform is primarily for developers and system administrators. Of course there is always the solution to add a GUI that will run with a lot of problems.
Adding popular distribution to Windows Store does not make things much easier but saves two keystrokes at the command line.
