The new operating system Fedora 25 was released on November 22 2016, and brings all the latest versions of the operating and kernel.
Those of you who want to upgrade your old system Fedora 24 in the new Fedora 25, Fedora Ambassador Justin W. Flory posted a nice tutorial on how to do it without reinstalling it from scratch by deleting the old one.
So below we will see how to upgrade to the new Fedora 25 through GNOME Software manager or with the DNF package manager.
Let's first look at the easy way:
Open GNOME Software from the GNOME Shell interface, go to the Updates tab, and upgrade to Fedora 24 by following the instructions on your screen.
Upgrade from Fedora 24 to Fedora 25 with DNF
If you are a Fedora power user you can do it from the DNF Upgrade plugin. The process upgrades from Fedora 24 to Fedora 25 is pretty straightforward, but you'll need to run a few commands in the terminal.
First of all, make sure that the Fedora 24 software you are using is up to date and that you have a backup of your most important files and settings.
You will then need to install the DNF Upgrade plugin using the first command listed below. After installation, you can start upgrading with the second command.
sudo dnf install dnf-plugin-system-upgrade sudo dnf system-upgrade download --releasever = 25
When all the packages are down, you have to restart your system, no matter what method you used. Upgrading the system will continue and it will take a few minutes to complete. If you experience any problems, you can ask for help Fedora community or its wiki page project, referring to the paragraph " DNF system upgrade. "
