Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei seeks to downplay the impact of his company's foreclosure on Google and Qualcomm. at the behest of the US.
In comments that did in the Chinese media, at the headquarters of Huawei and according to state newspaper Global Times, Mr. Ren reports that the disruption of business relations with the USA it will not significantly affect Huawei, due to the existing plan extraordinary emergency.
"At this critical juncture, I'm grateful to American companies for their contribution to Huawei 's growth and for being conscientious. "As far as I know, American companies are trying to persuade the US government to let them work with Huawei. We always need American-developed chipsets and we can't rule out US products because of a headache."
But Mr Ren argued that trade restrictions would not affect Huawei's 5G growth, and that the US government "underestimates Huawei capabilities".
Huawei co-founder Ren is a 74-year-old with a low profile who almost never gives interviews, but lately all the spotlight has been on him due to the recent escalation of tensions between his company and USA.
Tension that began when the US ordered the arrest of Ms.'s daughter Meng Wanzhou who is also the CFO of Huawei. Ren's tenure as mechanical in the People's Liberation Army, before Huawei was founded, has also contributed to the company being viewed with suspicion.
Google suspended last Sunday, the permission of Android to Huawei, following US President Trump's order, while Intel and Qualcomm said they would stop working with the Chinese telecom giant.
