Hacked the uTorrent forum change password

The administrators of the uTorrent forum have published a security advisory on their website, warning users of an intrusion into their forum database. The unknown attacker managed to steal them of uTorrent forum users, along with their hashed passwords.

uTorrent is a popular BitTorrent client, which was created by Ludvig Strigeus and then acquired by BitTorren Inc. Just like any software application, the The project runs a forum on their website where users can ask questions, read announcements, or get in touch with the developers.uTorrent forum

Two days ago, on June 6th, the uTorrent team announced that their forum was hacked, which was first reported to them by the vendor of the forum software they use.

uTorrent runs an IP.Board forum on the cloud-based service provided by Invision Power Services.

So IPB informed that one of its customers was hit and thus the attacker was able to escalate his access to other Invision customers, including the uTorrent account.

The uTorrent forum has more than 385.000 registered users.
