Viber and the former Mossad commander celebrate the 11th anniversary of VOIP's messaging platform on the international stage.
On December 2, 2010, the well-known Viber messaging platform for iPhone phones was released for the first time. It was a competitive response to Skype from the former Mossad commander and co-founder of Viber, Talmon Marco (Talmon Marco).
For the story, Viber Media was founded in Tel Aviv, Israel in 2010 by Marco and Magazinnik, who are friends of the Israeli Defense Forces, where they were chief intelligence officers. Marco and Magazinnik are also co-founders of the iMesh P2P program.
The company was run from Israel, with much of its development outsourced to Belarus in order to keep costs down work. It was registered in Cyprus apparently for tax reasons. Sani Maroli and Ofer Smocha soon joined the company.
On 13 February 2014, the Japanese company Rakuten announced that he had acquired Viber Media for $ 900 million and so was renamed in Rakuten Viber.
Over the last decade Viber has become synonymous with free, interactive and secure messaging that allows people to get in touch with whoever they want, wherever they are. After WhatsApp suicide Viber, like other messaging platforms took its market share and climbed to movement.
Since then he has gone through many difficulties, he has accused of interception, for violations, but remains one of the most widely used platforms worldwide with encryption from end to end.
