Η αυτοκινητοβιομηχανία Volkswagen πέρασε δύσκολες μέρες φέτος, όταν παραδέχθηκε ότι υπάρχει βλάβη σε σχεδόν 11 εκατομμύρια κινητήρες οχημάτων της, αφού τα επίπεδα εκπομπών των ρύπων ήταν ψεύτικα, εφόσον είχε “πειράξει” το for mobile devices to report the againstmeasurements.
Two months later, the company finally released a video explaining how it intends to correct the EA189 diesel engines that have experienced the problems.
1,6 and 2 liters of this engine will receive a software update along with a plastic device called the Flow Transformer.
Additions will balance the air that goes into the car's engine, and will determine how much fuel the car needs at any time.
VW initially said that the issue could be solved with an over-the-air software update, but the idea was probably blocked.
Additions according to the company will be relatively quick and will not last longer than 30 minutes.
Volkswagen will launch the vehicle revocation process to implement the update from January of 2016.
