The hack is reminiscent of a similar incident that took place in April 2013, when the The Associated Press's Twitter account was hacked by the Syrian Electronic Army group. The tweet claimed that the US President was injured after two explosions at the White House. Last December, the Washington Post was also hacked, compromising employee usernames, passwords and other personal information.
