A few months ago GoPro announced that it would be launching its own camera drone sometime in the first half of 2016. And while there were few details on the specs, the characteristics and the design of the quadcopter, GoPro yesterday published a video teaser to show its quality machineher eye
The video "Written with a prototype quadcopter under development and an image stabilization system" says in the comments of the video GoPro. "There is no stabilization in the studio, this is an example of the incredible image quality that is already able to capture this advanced prototype."
From the description of the 1440p video, we see that the video was recorded with a GoPro HERO4 camera mounted on the drone. The drone seems to do a pretty good job of keeping the fixed camera flying in the air.
The release of this video coincides with GoPro's quarterly announcement, which disappointed investors. The international revenue tripled, but sales in America fell 7%. Both revenue and net income missed expectations ($400M vs. $433.6M and 13 cents per share vs. 29 cents), sending shares plummeting more than 16%.
