Application users WhatsApp they can enjoy encrypted text communication thanks to a cooperation of the company with Open Whisper Systems.
According to a publication in security company blog, the encryption feature is available with its latest build Android app and currently only supports one-on-one text messaging. Support for group chats and messaging will be added in the future, according to Open Whisper Systems.
“WhatsApp runs on an incredible number of mobile platforms, so full deployment will be an incremental process as we add TextSecure protocol support to each platform client of WhatsApp. All mobile platforms will be supported, and all WhatsApp users will have end-to-end encryption by default,” the company said.
