Capturing from fingerprints of a WhatsApp image

South Wales Police have arrested a drug dealer from a of WhatsApp that contained a photo of the dealer's hand holding various pills, according to one Publication of the BBC.WhatsApp
It is the first conviction in Wales based on which simply appeared in a photo.
Still, the photograph had only a small portion of the fingerprints of the suspect, which was not very useful for tracking it.

Later, police forensic scientists were able to analyze the findings to confirm that the identity of the suspect corresponded to the person arrested by the police.

According to Dave Thomas, a spokeswoman for the South Wales Police Science team, sentences in Wales based on fingerprints from a photo are possible due to the smartphones' camera improvement in recent years.
The they are quite detailed and can serve as clues to locate people.
